Our Year 3 children have made a pneumatic toy as part of their Autumn Design and Technology Project.
Year 2 children had lots of fun making Moving Monsters. Please have a look at the video to see some of the children’s work.
Year 5 made Pop Up Books using a range of different mechanisms. They then went to our Year 1 class to share them with the children.
Design technology intent statement
At Alice Ingham RC Primary School, our aim is to have a design and technology curriculum, which is inspiring, rigorous and practical. We follow a scheme of work from KAPOW to support the planning and delivery of design technology lessons. As a school, we have recognised the importance of cross-curricular links and have ensured that our bespoke curriculum links to other subjects, particularly science.
We actively encourage our children to use their creativity and imagination, to be innovative and to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values and then evaluate against their own criteria.
