In celebration of St Teresa of Calcutta (our Trust patron), the children from Reception to Year 6 worked with a local artist to produce some amazing artwork based on her and her words.
RE intent statement
‘A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person. And a good Catholic school, over and above this, should help all its students to become saints.’
Pope Benedict XVI, 2010
Religious Education lies at the heart of our curriculum and school life. At Alice Ingham RC Primary School we are committed to the Catholic faith, recognising and valuing every individual as special and unique in the image and likeness of God. We want every child to be happy and enthusiastic learners of RE and to be eager to achieve their very best in order to fulfill their God-given talents.
Through Religious Education, children will understand their unique place within their home, school and parish community. We will enable them to develop a personal faith in Jesus Christ and allow them to know and love God. It is our hope that children will develop an awareness of God’s presence in their lives and the lives of others, developing the spiritual life of each child through prayer and reflection. We also want to prepare children for life in a multi-faith society by showing love and respect to one another. Most of all, we want all children to have a love of their faith, love for others and a love of themselves.
Our Religion Curriculum follows the Come and See scheme.
