In Year 4, the class teacher is Mr McGhee.

We learn through the Key Stage Two Curriculum. Please have a look at the curriculum newsletter (below) to see what we are learning at the moment.  For more information, please take a look at the curriculum section of the website.

Your child’s learning can be supported by reading every day, learning spellings, learning times tables and completing homework.  With reading, spellings and times tables, little and often is the key.

Children in Year 4 will be assessed at the end of the year on their Times Table knowledge.  This is a national test and is administered by all schools throughout the country.  All children do have access to ttRockstars and a link is provided below.  Please encourage your child  to access ttRockstars as much as possible and move up our school leaderboard.

If you need to contact us for any reason, please contact the school office or email us at 4d@aliceingham.stoccat.org.uk

Class Routines

Reading Books

Reading books will be changed when your child has finished their book and completed their assessment at school.  Please ensure that you are reading regularly with your children and signing their books.  When the children have finished reading ask them questions about the book, this helps to develop their comprehension skills.

In addition to this, all children will read to an adult as frequently as possible in school, and will have daily taught reading sessions with a teacher.  As a consequence, please ensure that your child’s reading book and reading record are in school everyday.

PE

The children will have a PE session every Friday.  Remember that your child can come to school in their P.E kit (white top, black bottoms and trainers) on a Friday.

Homework

Homework is set every Friday and should be returned by the following Friday. It will be based on learning during the week.
