At Alice Ingham, supporting charities is a vital part of our commitment to Journeying to excellence through faith and learning. Guided by our Mission Statement, we encourage our children to embrace the values of compassion and service. By actively participating in charitable activities, our students learn the importance of helping others and develop a strong sense of community awareness.

CARITAS

We work closely with Caritas Salford, who help us to live out Catholic Social Teaching in practical ways. Each year, our children take part in fundraising for St Joseph’s Penny, supporting families across our diocese. This year we raised £36.70, and in the previous year £62.70 — every penny helping those most in need.

The Salvation Army

We are proud to partner with the Salvation Army in Rochdale, who helped us provide Christmas presents for local families who may otherwise have gone without. Their generosity ensured that children from birth to 18 received gifts and that families felt cared for and supported during the festive season.

NSPCC – Number Day

Each year we celebrate Number Day in support of the NSPCC, raising awareness of children’s safety while enjoying maths-themed activities. In recent years, we have held non-uniform days with number-themed clothing and £1 donations to raise funds for this important cause.

Macmillan Cancer Support

We recently hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning, bringing together staff, pupils, and families for a wonderful community event. Together we raised £144.31 to support those living with cancer.

Rochdale Foodbank

As part of our Harvest celebrations and other events throughout the year, we collect food donations for Rochdale Foodbank. Last year, recognising that some of our own families were struggling, we created food hampers from the Harvest donations to support those within our school community.

Great Athletes

Through a sponsored fitness event with Paralympian Anthony Cotterill, our pupils raised £404.36 this year and £283 last year. This exciting event encouraged perseverance, teamwork, and healthy living.

Christmas Food Hampers

At Christmas, we use donations from our Parish Fund to create food hampers for families in need. Miss Webster, Mrs Firth, and Miss Jarman work together to identify families who may not qualify for free school meals or other support, ensuring that everyone has what they need during the festive season.

Re-Use Littleborough

We have a wonderful partnership with Re-Use Littleborough, who help families access clothing, furniture, and essential household items. When they host community events, such as their £10 clothing bag days, we share this information with our families through our school communications.

Manchester United Foundation

We are proud to work with the Manchester United Foundation, who support us with PE lessons, after-school clubs, and opportunities such as Eco Reds, promoting sustainability. The Foundation provides match tickets and merchandise for our pupils and families, and even supports us with warm coats for children during the winter months.

Uniform For All

We signpost families to Uniform For All, a fantastic local organisation providing free school uniform to those in need. Families can donate or request items via their website, ensuring every child is equipped for school with dignity and pride.
