At Alice Ingham, daily Collective Worship is at the heart of our school life. These worship sessions provide a dedicated time for our school community to gather in prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth. Each day, we come together to deepen our relationship with God and strengthen the bonds within our community.

Through stories, prayers, and hymns, we encourage our children to embody values such as love, respect, care, and resilience, creating a nurturing environment where faith is at the centre of all we do. Collective Worship at Alice Ingham fosters a sense of togetherness and moral development, helping our students to live out their faith in practical and meaningful ways as they grow spiritually.

Weekly Structure

Whole school Celebration of the Word led by the Head Teacher and Chaplains. This is based on the Sunday Gospel, following the Liturgical Calendar and the Church’s year, and helps our school community reflect on God’s Word at the start of the week. Once every four weeks, Chaplains and the Faith Council lead this session to introduce the new RE unit from the school’s chosen scheme of work.

Sung Worship and Mark 10 Mission

We come together in joyful Sung Worship, lifting our voices in praise to God through music and song. This is a special time to celebrate our faith as one school family, deepening our prayer and expressing our love for God.

Alongside this, we use Mark 10 Mission resources, which bring the Gospel to life for children through engaging Celebration of the Word videos, worship songs, and reflection. These resources help pupils to explore scripture more deeply and grow in their understanding of Jesus’ message.

Gift Team Worship

We gather for Class Worship, continuing our reflection on the Sunday Gospel introduced on Monday. This time allows each class to listen, reflect, and pray together, helping children to deepen their understanding of God’s Word and consider how it guides their actions in everyday life.

Class Worship

Class Worship provides dedicated time for prayer, reflection, and learning about our faith. Children explore the Gospel teachings in greater depth, helping them to deepen their understanding and securely embed the message of Scripture. Through discussion, prayer, and reflection, pupils are supported in developing a clearer and more meaningful knowledge of God’s Word, and in considering how it guides their daily lives.

Living Out Our Mission Assembly

Led by the Head Teacher, this whole-school assembly reflects on the Mission set on Monday and celebrates how it has been lived out throughout the week. We recognise how children have responded to God’s Word through their actions, choices, and attitudes in daily school life, as well as celebrating their God-given talents and achievements. This time of gathering helps us to see how our faith is put into practice and how we continue to grow together as a community rooted in the Gospel.
