At Alice Ingham, daily Collective Worship is at the heart of our school life. These worship sessions provide a dedicated time for our school community to gather in prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth. Each day, we come together to deepen our relationship with God and strengthen the bonds within our community.

Through stories, prayers, and hymns, we encourage our children to embody values such as love, respect, care, and resilience, creating a nurturing environment where faith is at the centre of all we do. Collective Worship at Alice Ingham fosters a sense of togetherness and moral development, helping our students to live out their faith in practical and meaningful ways as they grow spiritually.

Weekly Structure

Whole school Celebration of the Word (CotW) led by the Head Teacher, supported by the Chaplains. This usually celebrates the Gospel reading from the previous Sunday, following the Liturgical Calendar and church’s year. Chaplains and Faith Council will also lead this once every four weeks to introduce the new RE unit from the school’s chosen scheme of work.

Class Worship (EYFS & KS1 10:10) / KS2 Catholic Values offers time for prayer, reflection, and learning about our faith. Children explore Gospel teachings and Catholic virtues, growing in love, kindness, and respect as they live out the values of Jesus each day.

We celebrate Class Worship – The Wednesday Word by gathering to share Scripture, reflect, and pray together. It’s a special time for each class to grow in faith, listen to God’s Word, and live out His message of love in our daily lives.

We celebrate Sung Worship with joy and unity, lifting our voices in praise to God. Through music and song, we express our faith, deepen our prayer, and celebrate God’s love together as a community.

Praise and Thanksgiving led by the Head Teacher, celebrating the week’s achievements and the children’s God-given talents.Â
