Our class teacher in Year 3 is Mrs Gibson.

We learn through the Key Stage Two Curriculum. Please have a look at the curriculum newsletter below for further information. For detailed information about our curriculum, please take a look at the curriculum section of the website.

Your child’s learning can be supported by parents and carers by reading every day, learning spellings, learning times tables and completing homework.  With reading, spellings and times tables, little and often is the key.

To contact us about your child, either call the school office or email us at our class address on 3p@aliceingham.stoccat.org.uk

Times Tables is a huge part of the Year 3 Maths curriculum – by the end of Year 3, they must be secure in their 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables. This is preparing them for the National end of Year 4 Multiplication Test.

Times Table Rock Stars is a great way for your child to learn these key number facts – (please email 3P@aliceingham.stoccat.org.uk if you need login details)

Class Routines

Reading Books

Reading books will be changed when your child has finished their book and completed their assessment at school.  Please ensure that you are reading regularly with your children and signing their books.  When the children have finished reading ask them questions about the book, this helps to develop their comprehension skills.

In addition to this, all children will read to an adult as frequently as possible in school, and will have daily taught reading sessions with a teacher.  As a consequence, please ensure that your child’s reading book and reading record are in school everyday.

PE

The children will have a PE session each Wednesday.  Remember that your child must come to school in their P.E kit (white top, black bottoms and trainers) on this day.

Homework

Homework is set every Friday and should be returned by the following Friday. It will be based on learning during the week.
